Nine years ago, Amin left Senegal to work in France, leaving his wife and three children behind. His work is his life, and his co-workers are his entire social world. He visits his family once or twice a year, for a week, sometimes even for a month. The money he sends to Senegal keeps his family afloat. Over the course of one of his jobs, Amin meets Gabrielle (Emmanuelle Devos), a good-natured divorcée, and they slowly develop a warm and loving relationship. Philippe Faucon is an esteemed French director whose films deal mostly with immigrants and their difficulties adapting to life in France. The extraordinary talent and sensitivity employed in this film result in a small and touching drama.
