Coincoin and the Extra-Humans

France 2018 | 208 minutes | French | Hebrew, English subtitles

Five years ago, Bruno Dumont created Li’l Quinquin, a widely acclaimed, brilliant and quirky mini-series. Now the esteemed director (L’Humanité; The Life of Jesus), returns to the same provincial town and colorful characters for a second season, which is no less whimsical, full of absurd humor and boundless creativity. Quinquin is no longer a boy, now he is called Coincoin, and his beloved Eve has left him for a woman. When a mysterious sticky black material is discovered nearby, the villagers start acting strangely. Appointed to solve the mystery are the zany men of the law, police chief Van der Weyden (Bernard Pruvost) and his deputy Carpentier, who investigate what turns out to be an invasion of aliens.
