Irena and Igor embark on an adventurous sailing holiday in the ocean, leaving behind their teenage son and daughter to test the boundaries of life free of parental supervision. Soon, however, things spin out of control, both at home and at sea – the parent's yacht capsizes and the beloved family dog is lost; the son is rushed to the hospital; while the dog tries to survive on a desert island.

Young Slovenian filmmaker Olmo Omerzu breathes fresh life into the family crisis genre, skillfully playing with the viewers' expectations and surprising the audience with each narrative and stylistic turn. Family Film was a festival hit during the past year, and garnered awards at the Tokyo and Ljubljana festivals.
