Rara

Chile, Argentina 2016 | 92 minutes | Spanish | English, Hebrew subtitles

Since their parents' separation, Sara and her sister have been living with their mother and her new female partner. Their everyday life is similar to that of most other families, and their home is warm and supportive, however their father has his doubts. As Sara's 13th birthday approaches, she is feeling overwhelmed with her first crush, her changing body and above all - her parents' disputes.

Pepa San Martín's debut, winner of the Grand Prix of the Generation at the Berlin Festival, is an intelligent piece based on a true story, seen from the perspective of a sensitive girl. The girls' performances and the director's perceptiveness have made Rara a highlight of recent festivals.
